Sharing God’s Love
What you will need: A3 Paper (or any size bigger), Scissors
Preparation: In large letters, write "God's love" across the whole page
Talk: John 13:34 says – “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." This morning I would like to show you how amazing God's love is.
I am going to need a volunteer or two to hold up this large piece of paper. Do you see that I have written "God's Love" on the paper. I want you to imagine that this is all of God's love. How many corners of Love is there? (Get the whole church to count along with you, you will end up at 4). God commands us in John 13 to love one another, so I want to share some of this love out this morning (cut one of the corners off and hand the corner to someone in the room). Let's check how many corners of God's love we now have. (Get the whole church to count along with you, you will end up with 5) - Repeat this stage so you end up with 6 corners!
The amazing thing about God's love, is the more you give it away, the bigger it grows. It never runs out! There is always enough for everybody. I'll prove it to you... How many corners of love did we start with? … 4. How many do we now have? … 6. Are you sure? What about the corners we handed out? (Count the triangle corners of the two pieces of paper you handed out). How amazing is that? We started with 4 corners and now we have 12 corners! The lesson this morning is that we should love one another, as we show love it will grow so that our friends, family and neighbours will all know the love of God.
