Leadership Team

Ross Ferguson

I am the Pastor at Lincoln Baptist, having joined in August 2018. Having worked in London and Edinburgh as a recruitment consultant for Investment Banks, God called me into full time ministry in 2012. At LBC I work together with the leadership team in Gospel outreach and the teaching of God's word.

I am particularly passionate about Bible teaching, encouraging others to delve deeper into God's word so there is no surprises when I say one of my favourite verses is Psalm 1:2 - Blessed is the one who meditates on the law of the Lord day and night. In my spare time I can be found walking my dog or spending time with the family.

I am married to Christine, with three adult daughters, and 5 grandchildren with ages ranging from 1 to 16 years. We regularly care for the 4 grandchildren who live locally. I retired in 2014 after nearly 40 years in the NHS service, and ended as a Director of Procurement in Lincolnshire.

I have served in the Church over many years, in many roles. I am passionate about working on the front line to point people to Christ. In my free time (no such thing as spare time) I watch football, mainly Liverpool and Atletico Madrid. I value my regular trips to Spain for games there. I also volunteer as a Chair of Governors at a Church primary school. I hope I am seen as someone with a sense of humour and try to see the funny side in most things.

I am married to Dorothy and we have two grown up sons and we are also proud grandparents. A lifelong member of LBC I have been involved in the Leadership of the Church throughout significant periods of my adult life. Over the years I have undertaken various roles in the church from helping in the crèche to cutting the grass!  I enjoy "strumming "the guitar and leading worship.

Trained as a social worker, I enjoyed a long and varied career working for Lincolnshire County Council. Enjoyed playing tennis; cricket and golf and was a keen footballer and skier until my knees started to wear out! Now have to be satisfied supporting Lincoln City and escaping to the allotment! My drive comes from acknowledging Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, believing that He will direct my paths.

I have been in Lincoln since 1999, and love the city and this church. I am married to Naomia, with two grown up children and three small grandchildren. Most of my working life was in Social Services, then as a Pastoral Assistant at LBC until “retiring” in 2010.

I still enjoy my role in pastoral care, plus preaching and teaching and just talking to people about Jesus! Relaxation includes walking and getting out and about, reading, family time and watching TV.

(Pastoral Care)

I am married to Mark and we have two grown-up sons. I have been a member of LBC for over 40 years and have attended this church all my life. I have had different roles within the church over this time including leading under 11s children’s outreach, being part of the worship team and projection team. I am currently the link member of the leadership team for children and young people’s ministries.

My front-line ministry during my working week is as a headteacher of a local primary school - serving the children and their families as well as my own staff team. In whatever spare time I can find, I enjoy singing and am a member of several local choirs/groups.
